The organizing committee warmly welcomes you to attend the “Symposium on Liquid Crystal Photonics 2016”, to be held from April 22nd to 24th in Beijing, China.
This Symposium is organized by Peking University. The aim of the Symposium is to provide a high-level forum for scientists and technologists, domestic and international, to present their recent progress and to exchange ideas in LC photonics and displays. We also hope to enhance the competitiveness and stimulate collaboration of local academia and industries through sharing of the latest technology updates during this Symposium.
The Symposium mainly consists of keynote, invited, oral, and poster papers, combined with discussions and deliberations on research frontiers and major technology development in LC fields. This year, four special technical seminars emphasizing on the fundamental materials and electro-optics of advanced display and photonic devices will be given in the afternoon of April 22nd. We hope to provide a free and relaxed environment for in-depth communication and cooperation. The main topics of this Symposium include but not limited to the following display and non-display subjects: Quantum-dot enhanced LCDs, Flexible LCDs, New liquid crystal materials, Fast-switching display and photonic devices, Electro-optic and optical effects, Device simulations, Liquid crystal polymers and elastomers, Photo-alignment, Polymer-stabilized nanostructures, and Infrared, microwave and terahertz devices.
We sincerely welcome all researchers, engineers, and students to participate in this stimulating and comprehensive Symposium!

Taishan Mountain:
>
Taishan Mountain, a typical representative of the Chinese famous traditional mountains, locates in Shandong Province was included as "World Cultural and Natural Heritage" by UNESCO in Dec 1987. Taishan Mountain has 72 majestic peaks, magnificent waterfalls, centuries-old pines and cypresses and fascinating rocks. There are 6,293 steps in the nine kilometers leading to the top. The four wonders of the mountain are Sun Rises from the East, Golden Belt Along the Yellow River, Beautiful Sunset and the Sea of Clouds.> Confucius’Mansion, Temple and Cemetery: >Qufu in southwestern Shandong Province was the capital of the state of Lu during the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 B.C.) and the hometown of Confucius, a great thinker and educator. Confucius’ Mansion was the residence of Confucius’ eldest male descendants for generations. Confucius’ Temple is famous for its 2,000 stone steles and more than 100 portrait stones from the Han Dynasty. Confucius’ Cemetery houses tombs for Confucius and his descendants. |
