主要研究方向为微纳米结构力学性能以及相关应用的多尺度计算模拟,该方向是固体力学、材料科学和物理学等学科的前沿交叉领域。在该领域从事研究不仅要求研究者具有力学研究的基本素质,还要有扎实的材料科学和物理科学的知识。主要包括:(I)通过多尺度模拟方法研究低维材料结构(纳米碳管和二维材料)的力学行为;(II)基于纳米流控行为的机械能能量吸收/耗散系统;

主要学术成就和工作亮点:
1. 通过设计新的数值实验方法解决了纳米流控学长期存在一个基本争论“液体的表面张力以及液固接触角是否具有尺度效应”;进一步发展了测量液固接触角的新方法,显著降低了传统方法中的测量误差和人为因素的影响,本研究工作刚发表在Scientific Reports,所提出的测试新方法已经申请了科学发明专利。(评阅专家指出“我们的工作首次研究了微纳米条件下温度、电解质离子和孔形状对液体表面张力的影响”)
2. 通过多尺度模拟研究低维材料复杂力学行为方面取得了一系列重要成果,从连续介质薄膜拓展到二维材料,首次发现范德华作用会影响二维材料压痕测试(指出发表在Science 2008的传统模型的问题并加以修正),从而更准确获得二维材料力学性能,主要结果发表在Carbon和nanotechnology等纳米力学主流期刊。(我们关于范德华作用对二维材料压痕分析影响的工作被IOP Science Lap talk进一步报道,俄罗斯科学院的学者在Mechanics of Solids发表的论文也引用了我们的发现。我们关于薄膜失稳图案的工作在2015年也被Nature和Nature Materials 的文章分别引用)
3. 首次建立了研究压力驱动下纳米流控行为的数值实验方法,并通过该方法系统研究了基于纳米流控行为的新一代吸能材料的吸能行为,为开发新一代能量吸收耗散系统提供了重要的科学指导,主要结果发表在J.Phys.Chem.C和J.Chem.Phys.等纳米流控模拟的主流期刊,该数值实验方法目前已经成为研究相关问题的通用方法,我们的方法及相关结果被国内外学者大量引用。
