Biography

Joined Peking University in 2015 as a National youth Thousand Talents Program Fellow. Received a BSc in biology and an MSc in biochemistry and molecular biology from Sun Yat-sen University, and a PhD in algal biotechnology from The University of Hong Kong. Worked in world top laboratories on plants and algae over ten years. Broadly trained and highly experienced molecular biologist and phycologist with interdisciplinary background. Particular areas of expertise include molecular biology, genetic engineering, biotechnology, transcriptomics, mass cultivation, algal physiology, algal biofuels and high-value products. Published around 50 peer-reviewed research articles on top journals of algae fields. Wrote 8 book chapters and edited a book. Editorial board members of several peer-reviewed journals.
