现任北京大学工学院副院长、终身讲席教授,兼任国际欧亚科学院中国科学中心副秘书长、中国食品科技学会功能食品分会常务副理事长兼秘书长、新加坡-北京大学低碳研究中心首任主任、北京大学工学院食品与生物资源工程研究所所长。陈峰1993年毕业于澳大利亚昆士兰大学化学工程系,获生化工程博士学位, 澳大利亚注册工程师。曾任香港大学终身教授兼任植物学系系主任及生物科学学院执行院长。陈峰的研究工作主要集中在微藻生物工程(包括微藻生物能源)、功能食品、生化工程及生物资源工程等领域。率先提出利用异养方式规模化高密度培养微藻以生产高附加值功能性食品成分及藻类生物能源(例如,脂质),他同时将研究扩展到其它微生物和植物资源的开发及功能性成分研究等领域。迄今已在国际权威学术期刊(SCI)发表270余篇研究论文和综述(SCI引用愈8000次,H-index 49)、专著4本、美国及中国专利共20余项。多次在国际学术会议作大会特邀发言, 多次组织国际学术会议。被Essential Science Indicators评为“Highly Cited Scientist”(Top 1%)。曾获香港大学“杰出青年研究奖”、“杰出研究生导师奖”、“法国-香港联合研究奖”、“首届中国食品科技杰出中青年奖”、2008年被选为“美国医学和生物工程院(AIMBE)院士”、2010年获“美国化学工程师学会大会奖”,2011年被选为“英国皇家化学会会士”,2014年被选为“国际食品科学院院士”及“国际欧亚科学院院士”。陈峰还兼任5个国际学术期刊编委(Food & Function, Process Biochemistry, Journal of Applied Phycology, Biotechnology Letters, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry)。
